Assurance

Do you have the assurance of tomorrow? Are you guaranteed another minute of breath? Do you have a promise of personal security for your life? Anyone who is trying to live in reality must ask themselves such soul-searching questions. It is not conceivable that people would walk around not thinking about the future. However according to the bible people who have not been enlightened by God's truth are blind to the reality of life and are blind, living a life in darkness. Once this light is revealed to a person, a man or women can accept the light or choose to remain in bonds of darkness. Jesus is the revelator that destroys darkness and ushers in truth thus resulting in life everlasting. A person whose existence is in darkness is dead. Nothing dead will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Nothing that corrupts or that is in spiritual decay can enter God's Kingdom. Life must be granted to that person by God's Spirit. This life-giver is Jesus Christ who died in our place and has passed from death unto life as a testimony, proof, example and witness of the glory of God.

John 5:24 "Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live."

A person must first believe what God has promised in order to accept the truth.

Once a person is under God's divine security and protection, God becomes a Father unto them. What loving and decent Father would let someone come in and remove that child from his house?

John 10:28-29 " And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand."

No one living away from the love of God has God's sovereignty.

The believer is secure in Christ sealed by the Holy Spirit and watched over by God. Romans 8:35 "Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? We cannot be separated from Christ by these things because Christ lives inside the believer.

Romans 10:38-39 "For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able, to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

People accuse the bible as an out dated book, which we cannot rest and depend upon its accuracy for our eternal hope. People will say that those things were written a long time ago and were meant for those people way back then. It has been said that it is outdated and cannot be applied to today's living because things are much different than they were 2000 years ago. The truth is…there are things written within God's Word which are more applicable for us today living in a perverted and shameful society than back in the days when Jesus walked the face of the earth. In our demented and vulgar world God's principles apply so much more. This is why it is vitally important that people find the truth and they allow their souls to witness the love of God, which passes all understanding. God's Word has no time frame. His love transcends generations.

Before we were born again believers and followers of Jesus Christ, we were lost sinners. We were God's enemies because we practiced that which is unholy to God. But once the Spirit of Truth visited us and we received this new and living way we became the Children of God and are saved from the wrath to come. Romans 5:9-10 "Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life."

Ephesians 1:4 "According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love." God has predestined us to be adopted into the family of God. He has chosen everyone before the foundation of the world. Unfortunately not everyone he has called has been chosen. Jesus stands at the door of our hearts and knocks but not everyone he has called will receive this predestination of being adopted. By the good pleasure of the will of Jesus Christ all has been called unto salvation. Everyone can have the peace of Christ in their hearts and have the assurance of eternity in heaven. Not everyone will heed the call of God so few are chosen.

We have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace if we will call on the name of Jesus and believe.

Ephesians 1:13 "In whom ye also trusted, after that you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after you believed, you were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise." Being sealed by the Holy Spirit signifies a finished transaction (Jeremiah 32:9-10, John 17:4, John 19:30) It declares ownership (Jeremiah 32:11-12, 2 Timothy 2:19) security (Esther 8:8, Daniel 6:17, Ephesians 4:30)

God will not give up on us, even if we give up on him! Philippians 1:6 "Being confident of this very thing, that he which has begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ."

God is able to deliver us and keep us from tribulations and temptations. 2 Timothy 1:12 "For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto hi against that day."

Our inheritance that God has prepared for us is reserved in heaven and shall never fade away.

1 Peter 1:5 "Who are kept by the power of God, through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time."

We now have assurance if we believe in Christ Jesus because he is our advocate with the Father and the Father hears the Son (1 John 2:1-2)

God promises us that when Jesus returns we will not only inherit and share everything which belongs to him but we shall be like Jesus for we shall see him as he is (1 John 3:2)

Some people live their entire lives, afraid of making mistakes, and scared of falling. It is hard to serve God when we hold back our faith. Jude 24 "Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy."

This assurance comes from God when we are obedient to his will and we are faithful to his Word. The scriptures teach that we can positively have assurance in Christ Jesus that when we are presented before God that we will be found blameless. It also teaches that we must depend solely on Christ and allow him to manage and lead us in every aspect.

People always want to go and do the things that they are not supposed to do. The flesh which are surrounded by is like an old friend which always brings destruction calling us back out into the world to suffer. People often return to the sin that they have been rescued and redeemed from but God made a way of recovery.

The best thing to do is to resist the devil and keep focused on the cross. The devil will flee and Jesus can bless you. Remind yourself daily of God's promises of eternal security. Remember we are assured a place with God in heaven if we remain and endure until the end.

In Christ Jesus,
