Anxiety

Anxiety is the official emotion of our age. It is the underlying cause of most psychiatric problems. Anxiety produces stress which can become dangerous and produce conflict. When fear sets in there is that feeling of paranoia which makes us loose our trust with everyone including God. Jesus taught that we should not be anxious or worry about life's basic needs, such as food and clothing or even the future. We have a heavenly father who will provide for us (Matthew 6:25-34). Peter and Paul both came to this conclusion "Stop perpetually worrying about even one thing," Christians are to bring their request to God, with an attitude of thanksgiving, expecting to experience the "peace of God which surpasses comprehension (Phil 4:6-7). Cast your anxiety on the Lord for he cares for you (1 Peter 5:7).

The bible says, "perfect love cast out all fear" (1 John 4:18).

Here are some ideals to help you battle with anxiety.

  1. Listen to Christian music (1 Samuel 16:23)
  2. Get adequate sleep (Ps. 127:2)
  3. Live one day at a time (Matt. 6:34)
  4. Read your bible daily
  5. Hang out with born again believers
  6. Talk to God
  7. Find yourself a spirit-filled church which preaches God's word

Here are a few other scripture which will help Psalm 131:1-3, Psalm 139:1-23, Proverbs 12:25, Luke 12:22-26.

Also I would recommend getting the book "Happiness Is a Choice by Frank B. Minirth and Paul D. Meier by Baker Publishing.
